TPSFX FOUNDATION BEEN LAID......

31 July 2008

Sunday the 27th of July marked a memorable day for most youth of PSYG. It was yet another event in our struggle to give something back to the community. The Panjtan School for Excellence (TPSFX) is now up and running with the help of our Academic Team, tutors and of course our youth President Raza Gulani.

The first class was a great success with attendance beyond expected. Almost all students who had confirmed their attendance turned up. The class started off with an introduction to TPSFX. This consisted of recitation of Quran, followed by a brief introduction by PSYG Academic Coordinator. We then had our beloved Maulana Abul Qasim speak some words of wisdom and encouragement, followed b
y Uncle Shabir Alidina who opened our eyes to the reality of our future. Our youth President also gave some advice to the youngsters. All youth tutors then briefly introduced themselves and we got straight into studying.

Students attended from year levels 9 to 12, all doing different subjects. All our tutors mashaAllah were ready and most willing to help. Sister Zara and Sister Zahra took interviews of all students in order to create a database of their level in each subject. This was created in order to follow up on the improvement of each child in future months. We also had supervision by our PSYG coordinator, Dr Hassan and our PSYG President, Raza Gulani at all times.

The classroom environment was fun, interactive and all the students agreed that they enjoyed studying just as much as we enjoyed teaching them. The survey conducted towards the end of class proved most students liked the method of teaching as well as the environment. The only suggestion made was regarding a more fixed plan in terms of which subjects to be taught. Besides this there were lots of praises.

A
fter the class finished, youth teachers got together and had a meeting with PSYG President and Coordinator to discuss the session and any improvements that could be made. I guess the biggest issue of all was bringing a lotta next time??? The teachers’ meeting proved their willingness to teach and also discovered the promising attitude of students willing to learn. We would like to state that our commitment is not only for the 2 hours every second Sunday; we encourage students to contact us with any study related questions via academic@psyg.panjtan.org.au, and we will do everything to assist them.

We, as part of TPSFX, will continuously work hard to improve our way of teaching and endeavour to contribute greatly towards every child’s education and his/her future, and we will not rest until all PSV youngsters obtain the highest possible results.

Jazak’Allah
